Every LMSW and LCSW must complete one hour of continuing education for each month of their registration period, which must be completed from NYSED-approved providers of social work continuing education. - Experienced LCSWs can earn “R” status, which indicates their psychotherapy services must be reimbursed by insurance companies in accordance with New York law.
